A new research group on Collective Vulnerability and Social Change as been launched as part of the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Lausanne. The group focuses on the way collective calamities such as war or social crisis affect the fabric of community life. The research the Collective Vulnerability and Social Change Research Group explores the link between collective vulnerability and individual fragilities, the way traumatic experiences are shared and constructed among community members, the processes of transition from collective catastrophes to progressive social change.
